Solo Ads - Making Them Sell

Filed under: Markets + Marketing — admin @ 10:49 am

OK, You want to know how Solo Ads sell. This is it, short and sweet.

Writing your Solo Ads, not rocket science… at all.

This article itself is a visual example of what good solo ads look like. It’s a little longer that most solo ads are but hey, it’s an illustration of one.

Bullet point your Solo Ads just like you see here.

Solo ads are all about skim reading. People cruse through them at warp speed so make a bullet point and back it up really quick.

Your Solo Ad titles, easy as one, two, three.

Solo ads with great titles will sell your product. Just look at the headings here in bold text. They’re basically section titles. Your still reading so it’s working. That’s what you what your solo ads to make people do, read them! Then you’ll sell big time.

Say it. Don’t hold back, Say it!

Hey guess what? You can put your web site address in your solo ads more than once. Why not increase your chances of people visiting your site and opting in?

Call me to action baby!

When your solo ads have strong “calls to action” or combinations of persuasive words, that’s what gets people to your web site. It’s a good idea to put a call to action just before your web site address each time you include it in your solo ad.

Domain names, a slick Solo Ad selling trick.

Domain names can be cool things to persuade you readers with too. For example, you can buy a domain name that’s part of the title in your solo add, ties into the text, your product and makes your ad look snappy. You can buy a domain name for each ad really cheep. Its worth the $3-$10 bucks because usually the more domain names you buy at once the less they cost.

Getting cheep Solo Ads and chopping down ad prices.

You can find really cool E-zine publishers who actually give you an office phone to call them, who answer it! They often offer you cut prices on your solo ads because you’re probably going to be a repeat customer.

A warning about Solo Ads and SPAM.

Use a spam checker before you ever submit your solo ads or they may never see the light of day. In other words, get delivered. There are plenty of good quality free SPAM checkers. This is a friendly suggestion. Find, download and use one to analyze your ads before you submit them.

You can get people on the way out the door.

Put a P.S. message in your solo ads to keep your readers interest
down to the last sentence. In fact you can use a P.S. more that onece. Studies show the second P.S. gets the best response. So make that one a strong call to action.

Ok, this is the big secret.

This is how you seal the deal, get leads and make sales. Make your own web site that ties into the title, domain name and text in your solo ads. The more your solo ad’s content and web site relate, the more leads your ads will generate,
the more sales you’ll make.

That’s it. That’s the game. I hope this helps you.

Solo Ads are great but there are many ways to generate leads to learn about that are more targeted and don’t cost a dime.

Affiliate Commission Stolen - From Under My Nose!

Filed under: Markets + Marketing — admin @ 7:57 am

Some people doubt that commission stealing is a
problem.

It is.

Clickbank have taken steps to plug the leaks in their
system according to Allan Gardyne’s latest newsletter.

If you’re an affiliate and not subscribed to Allan’s
newsletter, you’re missing the best newsletter in the
field…it’s free… http://www.AssociatePrograms.com/

I’m glad ClickBank are moving in the right direction
because I had a commission deliberately stolen from
right under my nose!

How do I know?

Easy.

I’m the ONLY affiliate for a product I endorsed
recently.

But, when I sent my announcement, a sale appeared from
a SECOND affiliate username.

The person had changed my affiliate link to their own
so that they could pocket the commission I was due.

That’s bad karma folks.

Even if stealing commissions was the easiest thing in
the world to do, it still doesn’t make it right.

A Dirty Secret Marketers Don’t Want You To Know

Filed under: Markets + Marketing — admin @ 12:55 am

Seems everyday there’s a new info-product or software launch in the Internet Marketing world. The high-pitch hard-sell salesletters practically screaming at you not to miss out on the latest and greatest program or marketing secret.

This can be hell - I know - I used to max out my credit cards on a regular basis, making purchase after purchase because I didn’t want to get left behind.

Of course, when it came time to pay my bills, I had to face the painful facts. Not only had I spent more money than I had made, but I had also wasted so much time buying and downloading, I never really got around to reading and applying the information I had blown my credit on.

Well, I wasn’t raised to be in debt, so I smartened up real fast and stopped cold turkey making these sorts of impulse purchases. I gave the credit card to the wife and just asked her to make sure the internet service was paid for every month.

Meanwhile though, the offers from the top marketers kept pouring into my inbox, all kinds of great new programs just waiting to let their secrets be known, if only I’d “Buy Now”.

I wasn’t going to take it lying down though - so I started to do some researching, some real deep digging in fact. And it wasn’t long before I struck gold.

You see, I discovered the REAL secret most internet marketers don’t want you to know. And I’m going to tell it to you right now:

“Almost every software program being marketed for ridiculous prices has a FREE equivalent available. In fact, often the programs being marketed are based directly on readily available ‘free-to-download-and-use’ open source programs that work just as well - and sometimes better than the version being sold. You just have to know where to look.”

Read that one more time.

I’m not talking about simple programs either. Let’s just say if you think the only way you’re going to get your hands on the latest automatic website generating software, or the newest program to set up and manage a large network of blogs fast is by shelling-out $100, $200, or more - you’re ’shopping’ in the wrong place. You can find absolutely free versions of these programs online if you are prepared to research a bit. And that’s just for starters…

I am a total tightwad now. In fact I almost never make internet marketing purchases anymore. Yet I am still able to satisfy my lust for the latest internet marketing secret techniques and the software created to exploit them. Best part is, now that I’ve stopped burning out my credit card, I can actually show a profit at the end of the month for my efforts. I hope you will too!

Are You Winning or Losing In Google?

Filed under: Markets + Marketing — admin @ 9:16 pm

When tracking how well you’re doing against competitors in
Google are you winning, losing or just holding your own?

Don’t know? Doesn’t surprise me.

Most have no clue if they’re winning the Google rankings
battle much less the war. Which is a shame since keeping
score is so simple. Here’s all you do.

Identify the Competition
Track Page Rank
Ferret Out How Many Pages in Google
Gauge Both Quantity and Quality of Inbound Links
Track Traffic
Keep an Eye on Them

That’s it. That’s all that counts really. Here’s how to do it.

** Identify Your Competitors
Not hard. Just identify the top 5 competitors in your niche
you want to outrank.

** Track Page Rank (PR)
Pick the two or three “must-win” keywords you want to come
out on top for.

Use the Google toolbar http://toolbar.google.com to track
the PR of competitors’ home pages plus the two or three
other pages optimized for those competitive keywords you
picked.

Note the PR of each on a spreadsheet.

** How Many Pages in Google?
Again pretty simple if you have this tool:
http://www.neutralize.com/cmsvp/index.htm

In the left hand column you’ll see it asks “How well
optimized is your website?”

Now I don’t give a rat’s behind about mine, necessarily.
But I do care about those pesky competitors.

Enter the competitor’s URL
Stick in some guessimate for how many pages on their site
Hit the “check now” button.

The result will show you how many pages they’ve got in
Google, FAST, altaVista, and Inktomi. While I track all of
them - at least track the pages in Google.

** Gauge Quantity and Quality of Inbound Links
It’s a cinch if you use MSN or HotBot to get the number or
quantity of inbound links since they’re more inclusive.

Google on the other hand will only reveal in bound links
from PR 4 sites or higher. BAM! There’s your take on
quality.

Here’s how. Using MSN http://search.msn.com stick:

domainlink:www.competitor.com

in the search box. All pages linking to www.competitor.com
are returned.

Do the same with Google for higher PR links. Using

link:www.competitor.com

Record the count of all links plus high quality links on
your spreadsheet. (Be sure to subtract the internal links
from pages in the website in question.)

** Track Traffic
Use either Alexa’s Toolbar http://download.alexa.com or
visit Alexa http://www.alexa.com to grab traffic stats.

While far from perfect since it can be manipulated, you
can still get a decent estimate of traffic as measured by
users with the Alexa toolbar visiting the sites.

To keep it simple just track the traffic rank.

Then to close the loop…

** Keep an Eye on Them
Use a page monitoring service to watch competitor sites
like a hawk. Sure some would call this spying. But that
has such a negative connotation. I prefer monitoring. And
here’s the free tool to use that makes this automatic.

Change Detect http://www.changedetect.com will email
you whenever a site it’s monitoring for you changes.

This gives you yet one more way to track if the webmaster
is actively improving their site or asleep at the switch.

Now the easiest way to recognize trends is to graph what’s
going on. You’ll be able to see right away if the trend is
your friend or not.

Look. Don’t be blindsided like a frog in water on the
stove. Who will boil to death because he doesn’t detect
what’s going on.

** Track your closest rivals.
** Compare your stats to theirs.
** Re-act accordingly.

It’s easy and doesn’t take more than 20-30 minutes a week
given the tools revealed. Yet doing so gives you the
marketing intelligence you need to improve your Google
ranking or hold your own. No matter what your competitors
are doing.

What The Home Shopping Networks Can Teach Us About Online Marketing

Filed under: Markets + Marketing — admin @ 3:40 pm

Who would have thought that a TV network dedicated to selling products on a cable network could become a success?

Besides most people hate commercials… What would make them sit down, watch a shopping network and, ultimately, buy?

Simple… the networks applied principles that have been selling products for hundreds of years.

1. Get targeted prospect’s attention. The networks have a matter of seconds to grab those people flipping the channels looking for something to watch.

• Their solution is an excited host and an attractive display.

• These images say a thousand words, but, on the internet, this task is quite daunting. That is why you must have an exciting headline to get people’s attention, yet leave out the fancy graphics… they take too long to download, while a headline pops up on the screen in a matter of seconds…just like on the home shopping networks.

2. Handle the customer’s objections. The first thing the prospect sees, after his interest is perked, is the price at the bottom of the screen. He is now asking, “Is this product worth the price and will it meet my needs?” This is where the salesmen and women show their expert sales skills.

• Before they get on air, they have done their research and know potential customer’s needs and objections.

• They know that for each need and objection you ignore, you may be missing out on a sale.

• This same concept can be applied to the internet. By writing to your customer in a way that he feels that you have the perfect product for him, you can make a sale.

3. Show the benefits and justify the sale with features. My favorite products to watch being sold are clothing. They have been selling the same types of clothes for years, but they are able to sell thousands and thousands of clothes that would never sell in a department store.

• They do this by citing benefits, like, “You will look beautiful, and you will receive lots of compliments.” This gets the potential customer’s attention, but they are still hesitant because they want to make sure they are opening up their pocketbook for a quality product.

So the sales person will say, “This shirt is different because it has original stripes, and it is a perfect fit.” Now the customer will have the justification he needs to make the purchase.

• On the internet, this step is absolutely vital, and the customer must know why he should buy your product. Do this by making him picture what it would be like for him to use your product.

4. My favorite part… testimonials. On the home shopping network, they always have people calling in to explain why they made their purchase. The customers are doing this so they can justify their purchase to themselves. Everyone wants to make sure he has made the right purchase and so he calls in, so the sales person will say, “Yes, you were absolutely right, and everyone else should take your advice.”

• I like the testimonials so much because I always have to laugh at the various reasons people will use to justify their purchase.

As I am writing this article and listening to QVC, a woman just called in and gave an extremely detailed explanation of why she purchases from QVC and not from department stores. The woman says she has been buying from QVC since the inception of the network and she likes it because she does not have to go outside to buy her clothes.

• This example shows that you need to give testimonials that allow prospects to find reasons to justify their purchase. People want to buy, but they are not going to, unless they have a reason.

All this information is just a touch of everything you can learn from the home shopping networks.

So get tuned in!
