Adopting A Pet Pomeranian

Filed under: Dogs, Cats, Pets — admin @ 9:10 am

If you are looking for a toy dog that is intelligent, curious, lively and cuddly, then the Pomeranian could be the dog for you! Before you enter into dog ownership of any breed, however, you must ask be honest with yourself about if you are ready for the commitment of money and time that it takes to be a responsible dog owner.

The first thing you must do is make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. Are you ready to spend time training and grooming your Pomeranian? Is your family agreeable to the decision? Are you aware of the expense associated with responsible dog ownership and are you must insure your Pom has the appropriate veterinary care?

If your answers are yes, then all systems are go!

Before you pick out your perfect Pom, think about where you want to get him from. There are 2 basic places you can use to find a Pomeranian that suits you - A rescue organization or a Pomeranian breeder.

At a rescue organization, you will be able to find Poms that have been left homeless either to abandonment, death of owner or simply because they got lost. Some of these Poms may not have had a happy life before getting rescued and may have some problems, but there are many others that have no issues at all. You may have to wait a while before one that fits your criteria comes up, but it is a great way to give a needy animal a loving home.

If it’s a puppy you want to buy, or you plan to show the dog, you probably want to go straight to a breeder. If you do plan to buy from a breeder, make sure you use one that has the good of the breed at heart and not just trying to make a quick buck. Some things to consider when reviewing breeders are:

- Length of time in business and how many puppies they produce every year - too many may be an indication that they are more interested in money then in enhancing the breed.
- Ask if they are involved in rescue for the breed- it shows a compassion and caring for the breed.
- Make sure they know the standard for the breed.
- Find out if their breeders are registered.
- Ask if any of their dogs have been found to have genetic defects - they should not still be breeding these dogs.
- A reputable breeder will be most concerned that his puppies are going to good owners. If the breeder is grilling you about your family schedule and living environment then this is a good sign!

Once you have found your perfect pet Pomeranian, make sure you dedicate the time to proper training and grooming so that your dog can be a happy healthy companion for life!

Generating a positive ROI from PPC

Filed under: Dogs, Cats, Pets — admin @ 3:05 pm

Appearing on the first page of the major search engines for your key search terms is no doubt the best and cheapest way to drive relevant traffic to your site. However, if you’ve got a new site or are operating in a highly competitive sector where achieving decent rankings, pay per click advertising can also prove to be a cost effective way to generate visitors and customers.

So how do you go about generating a positive return from pay per click?

Keyword list - the bigger the better
Target specific keywords that relate to your products rather than bidding on very general terms. These are unlikely to prove cost effective, as you’ll be up against players with very deep pockets. Large keyword lists can be built by using two, three or four word search term phrases. Use the search term suggestion tools below to generate a comprehensive list.

Use search term suggestion tools
Not surprisingly, the best search term suggestion tools are provided by the companies that offer pay per click advertising. I use the suggestion tools offered by Google, Overture and Espotting. Merging these lists before submitting will ensure all keywords are submitted to the providers you choose.

Listings for company name
Don’t forget to bid on terms that include your company name and variations thereof. This is worthwhile for several reasons. It will ensure your site is in top position if someone does a search on your site name, the keyword is likely to be available for the minimum bid, thus generating a good return on investment, and it prevents competitors from achieving listings above or next to your listing.

Bid on lower value search terms
The search term suggestion tools rank the keywords on the number of searches they have received for them in the previous month. Always bid on those keywords that generate low levels of traffic, as they will often require a very low bid to ensure top position. Whilst the volume of traffic might be low, conversion is likely to be much higher than for the most popular phrases.

Get listings with the major pay per click providers
Use the pay per click providers mentioned above, as they will ensure the greatest coverage on the larger search engines. In the UK there is also Mirago and Webfinder that generate lower levels of traffic but a higher conversion rate.

List on industry specific providers
You are also likely to find sites that are relevant to your sector that now offer pay per click rather than a paid listing advertisement. For my keyword ‘travel insurance’ www.find.co.uk and www.uknetguide.co.uk have insurance specific sections where you can receive targeted visitors.

Deep Linking
Make sure the link goes to the most relevant page on your site rather than just the homepage. Conversion is likely to increase as a result.

Effective Titles and Descriptions
Write titles and descriptions specific to the product you are selling rather than just general, high-level terms. Also include a reason to buy e.g. any discount that you offer. Many of the ppc sites offer suggestions on how to do this so read these before submitting your adverts.

Update your account
There will always be new search terms appearing relevant to your keywords. Review and update your account at least on a monthly basis to ensure your adverts appear for all keywords.

Mordern or Medieval Hog Roasts?

Hog roasts have been around for hundreds of years but they may well be at their most fashionable right now. At special feasts in medieval times the host would roast a whole hog to dish up to his invitees as it was one of the most brilliant and brilliant things you could do. It was only the very prosperous and prestigious who could afford to do this, and consequently only a select few got to experience it. But now in 2009 hog roasts are yet more popular then they were back in the medieval times and anyone can now experience them. There is no better way of feeding numerous greedy people then having a hog roast at your event, so when you are next hosting a vast party you should consider it as a possible actionThe method used today has very little deviations to the method employed almost a thousand years ago. Using a gas cooker and a mechanism to turn the spit rather than a fire pit and a manual spit turning system, these are the small difference between the two methods. The results are a sight which few men or women can refuse, both methods develop the same beautifully roasted hog, dripping with flavour and covered in golden brown crackling.A hog roast will turn your event into a day that no one will forget in a hurry, so whether you’re having a medieval themed banquet or just holding a birthday party remember to keep hog roasts in mind.

Basic Sugar Glider Care

Filed under: Dogs, Cats, Pets — admin @ 1:47 pm

Perfect Pocket Pets provides specific cages to all sugar glider owners who buy their babies from us. The cages are specially designed for baby sugar gliders to be able to learn how to use their very small hands, feet, fingers and toes for climbing and transport.

Perfect Pocket Pets cages do not include any metal that is galvanized or epoxy coated with substances that could include zinc - a very poisonous substance for small animals when ingested.

Zinc poisoning will occur when epoxy coated metals begin to flake and residue adheres to the sugar glider’s coat, which it naturally cleans off by licking.

Your sugar glider’s poop tray can easily be lined by using newspaper pine shavings as bedding. Newspaper is extremely cheap and quick to change (i.e. cleaning out the cage) whereas pine shavings may find their way out of the cage and do need more attention when collecting and replacing inside the cage. Do not use cedar shavings - they give off a chemical residue that can cause respiratory problems in small animals.

The water bottle that serves to give your sugar glider its fluid intake must be attached securely to the outside of the cage with the tube leading inside at a practical height from the cage floor.

The location of the cage is also important. The simple rule of thumb is to integrate your sugar glider as much as you can within your family. They are very social animals and will most enjoy being close to your family in a location where you spend the majority of your time.

A related factor is noise. Sugar gliders are fairly active at night, so perhaps control which toys you leave in the cage at night if a member of your family’s sleep is affected.
