Quality Cookware and Bakeware Introduction

The staples of any western diet can be made with everyday cookware found in almost any kitchen. Every now and again, though, we want to branch out and try some of the world’s more exotic cuisines and dishes. Sometimes this requires a speciality piece of cookware. Let us take a look at a few of them.

When sampling the world’s foods, the first port of call is often Italy. After all, noodles and spaghetti is pretty much a regular in our diet nowadays, and trying one’s hand at genuine Scanpan, Calphalon and Anolon are just a few brands that offer pasta pots and inserts. The beauty of a these cookware combos is that you essentially have a built-in colander, so draining the pasta is very simple. And these pots can do double-duty when you decide to give risotto a go.

Spain has long been famous for its rich, flavoursome cuisine. Paella, its signature dish, can today be found in cafes and restaurants across the globe. To make delicious paella, you could use a standard wok or chef pan. But you wouldn’t capture the true essence of such a dish. With a large surface area, paella pans allow you to heat a large quantity of ingredients evenly and without excess liquid.

The most prominent regular found in any Asian kitchen is a wok. Stir frys are such a quick and healthy way to break up a week of humdrum dishes. It needs to be pointed out, though, that a wok can also be used for steaming, deep frying, braising and making soup. A frypan simply isn’t up to the all of those tasks. While some cheap and nasty woks are fine for your average kitchen, for those who really want to explore new cooking heights Scanpan, All-Clad and Calphalon produce exceptionally good woks.
